
Bayard Mckenzie
Director
Bayard has over twenty years’ planning and development experience, having worked in Local Government for 7 years, private consultancies throughout Auckland and Queenstown for over 8 years, and having run his own planning business at TDC for 6 years.
Bayard holds a Bachelor of Resource and Environmental Planning (honours) from Massey University, is a Full Member of the New Zealand Planning Institute (MNZPI). Bayard is also an active member of the Resource Management Law Association of New Zealand and a member of the New Zealand Urban Design Forum.
In March 2016 Bayard formally started The Development Collective. Bayard is passionate about good design outcomes and having recently completed his own architecturally designed house, sees value in building solid foundations of good urban design and delivering strong architecture.
Bayard works with a broad range of clients and his passion for each project allows him to be the lead planning and development management consultant tasked with delivering a wide range of development projects from their inception to completion. Bayard has also completed his own apartment development in 2023 where TDC were the lead designers for the project.
His broad range of skills and knowledge of the design and development processes allows him to work closely with designers, architects, property owners and developers to deliver great development outcomes for New Zealand.
