Email Bayard Call Bayard

Bayard has over fifteen years’ planning and development experience, having worked in Local Government for 7 years and private consultancies throughout Auckland and Queenstown for over 8 years.

Bayard holds a Bachelor of Resource and Environmental Planning (honours) from Massey University, is a Full Member of the New Zealand Planning Institute (MNZPI). Bayard is also an active member of the Resource Management Law Association of New Zealand and a member of the New Zealand Urban Design Forum.

In March 2016 Bayard formally started The Development Collective, with Chris Walsh. Bayard is passionate about good design outcomes and having recently completed his own architecturally designed house, sees value in building solid foundations of good urban design and delivering strong architecture.

Bayard works with a broad range of clients and his passion for each project allows him to be the lead planning and development management consultant tasked with delivering a wide range of development projects from their inception to completion.

His broad range of skills and knowledge of the design and development processes allows him to work closely with designers, architects, property owners and developers to deliver great development outcomes for New Zealand.

Email Josh

Josh Started with The Development Collective team in 2016 and his primary role is to manage all facets of the development process from inception to handing over the keys to our clients.

Josh has worked within the Project Management space for 10+ years within the construction and IT industries and holds a Bachelor of Business Studies, Majoring in Management and is qualified in PRINCE2 project management methodology. Josh has worked in both the Australian and New Zealand markets and has a broad range of skills in analysis, risk management, process, finance and project planning that strengthens his ability to provide quality project management outcomes.

One of the strengths in The Development Collective’s Project Management processes is a belief in putting significant work into due diligence in the very initial stages of projects that allow for successful development results for their clients. This is something that Josh applies, alongside strict project controls, to all his projects for his clients.

Email Yi-Jan Call Yi-Jan

Yi-Jan is a New Zealand and Australian registered Architect with over 12 years worth of project experience working in some of the most highly regarded firms in Australasia. He joined the team in March 2018 and oversees the architectural and design team for TDC.

Having worked in Shanghai, Sydney and ,more recently for a award winning architectural firm in Auckland, Yi-Jan has worked on many landmark commercial and residential projects, including ASB Bank, Wynyard Quarter, Macquarie Bank, Sydney’s North Shore Hospital and medium to high density housing projects.

He holds a Bachelor of Architecture and Architectural Studies degree (Honours) from the University of Auckland. He is also a registered member of the New Zealand Institute of Architects. From conception, consent to construction – Yi-Jan is passionate about assisting clients not only with a solid design focus but also with a solid returns focus. He believes the best way to achieve this is to apply a holistic approach to design and working collaboratively with the consultants at TDC.

Taiwanese born and New Zealand raised, Yi-Jan is fluent in both Mandarin and English.

Email Richard

Richard joined The Development Collective in 2018 as an Architectural Designer. His role is primarily focused on architectural design, from initial concepts through to final design details.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Architectural Technology from Durban University of Technology in South Africa, where he resided for most of his life. He has over 8 years’ experience in the private residential sector, specialising in bespoke designed homes. Richard is a passionate and driven designer and looks to create quality, unique residential architecture as a result of his dynamic approach to flow and spatial design. His fundamental belief that underpins his practice is that good architecture need not be costly, so as to afford every individual a well-designed home, tailored to their unique needs.

Richard thrives in a collaborative design environment and has found TDC to be the perfect home for innovative, team-based design.

Email Olivia

Olivia has recently joined The Development Collective team as a Graduate Planning Consultant. Olivia’s current position involves assisting in various planning projects, including, resource consent applications, preparing planning /property assessments, planning research, processing resource consent applications and administration. Olivia is also involved in various urban design projects, including, master planning and urban design reports.

Olivia holds a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in geography and a minor in sociology. She also holds a Master of Urban Planning (Professional) and Urban Design (Honours) from The University of Auckland.

Olivia has a strong interest and passion for both urban planning and urban design. She is particularly interested in sustainable urban planning and design initiatives, including low impact urban design and development. Olivia is excited about her future at The Development Collective, and looks forward to helping clients deliver strong urban planning and design outcomes.

Email Aneke

Aneke joined The Development Collective team in August this year as a Graduate Architectural Designer. Her role is focused on delivering architectural designs and assisting TDC’s Architectural Designers with concept designs and design development.

Aneke holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Unitec Institute of Technology. She is passionate about designing affordable, sustainable homes that also contribute aesthetically towards the greater environment and yet are suited for each individual site. She is looking forward to help design homes that suit modern needs and is excited to be a part of the team at TDC .

Aneke values the fact that she can be part of a collaborative team to help make the design process more efficient by delivering the best possible outcome by working closely with other consultants.

Email Sally

Sally has recently joined our team at TDC and her current position involves detailing and bringing to life our clients’ chosen designs in order to gain a building consent and start the construction process.

For the past 5 years she has been working with two small prestigious architectural firms, gaining experience in every possible aspect of the design process and honing her skills as senior design technician. During which time she was working on many high-end beach front residential properties. She has a comprehensive knowledge of the NZ building codes and standards, as well as excellent CAD skills.

She believes the collaborative environment of TDC is invaluable. It ensures the talent of the designers is maximised, producing bespoke homes that our clients can be passionate about and inspired by. This also generates a thoroughly efficient documentation process.

Sally completed her studies in Wellington with a Bachelor of Architectural Studies from Victoria University. She is currently working remotely with TDC, while gaining experience in the French architecture industry.
